Accountant II - External Accounting & Reporting

The Accountant II plays a key role in the External Accounting & Reporting department, supporting the month-end close process, preparing and reviewing account reconciliations and journal entries, and contributing to the preparation of Consolidated Financial Statements as well as corporate forecasting and budgeting. Additional responsibilities include preparing internal financial reports and analysis, maintaining accounting policies, and evaluating significant corporate transactions as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly and year-end external financial reports, including financial statements, footnotes, and Management's Discussion and Analysis (MD&A) for the Company's earnings releases, 10-Qs, 10-Ks, proxy statements, benefit plan reports, and other audit-related filings as applicable.
  • Ensure all SEC filings and financial reports are supported by appropriate and complete documentation.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external partners as needed.
  • Support internal and external audit efforts, including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) 404 compliance, by documenting processes and facilitating control testing.
  • Contribute to the preparation and submission of various other internal and external reports as required.
  • Support accounting activities related to stock-based compensation and other equity transactions.
  • Maintain and calculate basic and diluted share counts for earnings per share (EPS) reporting.
  • Compile monthly financial analytics, identify variances from planned and historical results, and assess the appropriateness of current financial activity.
  • Prepare journal entries and perform account reconciliations.
  • Assist in researching accounting issues and evaluating the impact of new transactions.
  • Provide support for management decision-making through analysis and reporting.
  • Demonstrate regular, reliable attendance and punctuality.

Requirements

  • Candidates with a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply.
  • 2-4 years of accounting experience required.
  • CPA and public accounting experience preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, and SOX compliance.
  • Proven ability to prepare and analyze financial statements, journal entries, and reconciliations.
  • Experience with stock-based compensation, equity-related transactions, and earnings per share (EPS) calculations.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify variances, evaluate trends, and provide insights.
  • Skilled in Oracle general ledger systems, Microsoft Excel and Word, with additional experience in Workiva/XBRL and other financial reporting tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrates a strong sense of urgency and ownership, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
