AWS DevOps Engineer

<p><strong>AWS & DevOps Engineer (9-Month Contract) - Toronto, Canada - $95 - $105 p/h </strong></p><p><br></p><p>We’re hiring a <strong>AWS & DevOps Engineer</strong> to support a cutting-edge R&D engineering team building scalable, cloud-native solutions. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys complex technical challenges, and wants to enable researchers and engineers through world-class cloud and automation practices.</p><p><br></p><p>A key initiative is <strong>migrating Infrastructure-as-Code from CloudFormation to CDK</strong>; the engineer must operate with minimal guidance and contribute ideas independently. </p><p><br></p><p><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></p><ul><li>Build and support end-to-end AWS cloud solutions, CI/CD pipelines, and IaC.</li><li>Collaborate closely with engineers and researchers, mentoring teammates and improving tooling.</li><li>Translate complex platform needs into clear, right-sized solutions with fast iteration.</li><li>Experiment with new technologies and champion modern DevOps practices across the team.</li><li>Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical partners.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>What You Bring</strong></p><ul><li>5+ years hands-on experience with AWS (ECR, ECS, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, SageMaker, Bedrock, EC2).</li><li>Strong DevOps foundation: GitHub Actions, AWS CodeBuild, CloudFormation/CDK, Python, Bash.</li><li>Solid systems design skills and ability to operate in ambiguous problem spaces.</li><li>Experience collaborating across functions, including research/AI teams.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Nice to Have:</strong> AWS certifications, Datadog/CloudWatch, Kubernetes, ML workflow familiarity, cloud cost optimization, use of AI-assisted dev tools.</p>
