Vaughan is your place to grow.<br><br><strong>Position Overview</strong><br> <br>Reporting to the Manager, Election, Registration and Protocol Services, the Election Coordinator, Technology will act as the subject matter expert for internet voting and vote tabulator technologies, and serve as the bridge between technology vendors and the Elections Vaughan team. The Election Coordinator, Technology shall be the day-to-day point of contact for contracted technology vendors. This position will oversee the technological aspects of the election, and lead the setup of the technology for use during Advance Vote and Voting Day.<br><br><strong>Responsibilities</strong><br> <br>Contract Management<br>• Day-to-day point of contact with external election technology vendors to set up the appropriate software and equipment for use during the Advance Vote or Voting Day.<br>• Communicates Elections Vaughan requirements to vendors and ensure those requirements are met.<br>• First point of contact to manage issues related to equipment and technology supplied by external vendors and troubleshoot with their staff to resolve those issues.<br>• Coordinates support from the Office of the Chief Information Officer with respect to the configuration and setup of election technologies.<br>• Coordinates with the Project Manager, Elections Vaughan to ensure vendors are completing deliverables and tasks in accordance with the project schedule and contract requirements.<br>• Coordinates election result decryption and vote tallying at the close of Voting Day.<br><br>Election Technology Operations<br>• Serves as the internal subject matter expert for the preparation and deployment of internet voting, voters list management and tabulator technologies.<br>• Supervises ballot proofing and testing.<br>• Coordinates with the Election Coordinator, Staffing on the development of training for election workers as it related to the use of any/all election technology to be deployed as part of the election.<br>• Supports the training of internal trainers and election workers on the use of election related technologies and equipment.<br>• Coordinates voting technology support and troubleshooting for Advance Vote and Voting in collaboration with staff from the Office of the Chief Information Officer.<br><br>General Election Duties<br>• Recommends policies/procedures in their area of responsibility that comply with the Municipal Elections Act and internal policies.<br>• Attends Election Central during Advance Vote and Voting Day to act as the main point of contact for technology related issues management.<br>• Assists the Election Coordinator, Logistics in the preparation and deployment of supplies and equipment as needed.<br>• Participates in post-election event lessons learned activities.<br>• Exercises sound judgement, integrity and fairness in dealing with sensitive and controversial matters.<br><br>Other Duties<br>• Performs other related tasks and projects as assigned, which are in accordance with their job responsibilities or necessary department and corporate objectives.<br>• Responsible for ensuring compliance with the Ontario Health and Safety Act and Regulations and the Corporate Health and Safety policy and related procedures.<br>• Responsible for ensuring compliance with the Accessibility for Disability Act (AODA) and related policy and procedures.<br><br><strong>Qualifications and Experience</strong><br>• Two (2) year College Diploma in Computer Science or related discipline.<br>• Minimum of four (4) years of related experience with election technologies, experience with vendor management an asset.<br>• Strong working knowledge of election technologies and election administration, including systems, software, equipment, policies and procedures.<br>• Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with and manage vendor relationships in a professional manner.<br>• Ability to proficiently use office software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, email and calendar tools (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint).<br>• Ability to work independently while receiving general direction regarding responsibilities.<br>• Highly developed interpersonal, conflict resolution, problem solving with the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team and fast-paced environment, supported by strong interpersonal, conflict resolution and problem solving.<br>• Ability to lift equipment up to 50lbs.<br>• Valid 'G' driver's license in good standing with access to a reliable vehicle.<br>• Knowledge of and demonstrated ability in the City's core competencies as well as relevant departmental functional competencies.<br>• Ability to travel to multiple sites as required.<br><br>Working Conditions<br>• Standard office environment.<br>• Election storage space, handling boxes of supplies, lifting and moving election equipment up to 50lbs.<br>• Must have stamina to withstand considerable mental and physical strain during an election event, including working long hours meeting strict deadlines and handling complaints.<br>• Extended overtime hours on evenings and weekends in the months prior to Voting Day.<br><br>We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
