Family Nurse Practitioner
Job Description
In accordance with the California Nurse Practice Act and the written Nurse Practitioner Protocols developed by the Family Nurse Practitioner and supervising physician, this position delivers primary health care for Marshall Medical Center Physician Clinics. The FNP maintains excellent public relations by interacting with patients, visitors, physicians and other staff members in a friendly and professional manner.
The position requires knowledge of nursing theory and practice, physical assessment, differential diagnosis, pathophysiology, pharmacological management of acute and chronic patient/family problems, and certification by the American Nurse Credentialing Center. It also demands substantial interpersonal skills necessary to instruct patients/families and collaborate with health team members, as well as physical ability to work and stand frequently for extended periods of time and occasionally lift and position patients.
