General Construction Labourer

Now Hiring: General Labourer – Full-Time (Summer Contract, Potential Extension)

Hours: Full-Time | June–August (with potential for Fall extension)

Little Owl Learning Centre is seeking a reliable, self-motivated General Labourer to support a variety of facility and project needs over the summer months. This is a hands-on role that includes everything from vinyl flooring and painting to outdoor maintenance, light carpentry, and preparing for a new playground installation.

We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, communicates clearly, and can manage tasks independently while working collaboratively with our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with setup and cleanup of indoor and outdoor job sites
  • Install vinyl flooring and support renovation tasks
  • Perform painting, sanding, and basic repair work
  • Maintain grounds and complete general outdoor upkeep
  • Assist with playground installation preparation (digging, leveling, organizing materials)
  • Operate hand tools and light equipment safely and efficiently
  • Support carpentry work and facility improvements
  • Follow all safety procedures and instructions from supervisors

Who You Are:

  • Independent and proactive—you get the job done without needing constant direction
  • A team player with excellent communication skills
  • Action-oriented, reliable, and not afraid of physical work
  • Experienced with vinyl flooring and painting (required)
  • Skilled in groundskeeping, general maintenance, or light carpentry (asset)
  • Physically capable of lifting, digging, and working on your feet for extended periods
  • Willing to learn and adapt to changing project needs

Position Details:

  • Full-time hours from June through August. Schedule TBD - some evening and weekend work needed
  • Potential to extend into the fall based on performance and workload
  • Work takes place at Little Owl Learning Centre and related project sites
