Innovation Project Lead ID-173
Achieve Operational Excellence through Innovative Solutions. We are seeking an experienced Innovation Manager to lead the design and development of process-centric material handling systems for Amazon's Middle Mile Network. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, operations, or a related field, with a proven track record of delivering innovative solutions that drive efficiency and productivity.
The role is responsible for developing novel material handling system concepts and solutions that reflect Amazon's internal and external volume requirements. This involves working closely with cross-functional teams to identify business needs and develop design excellence approaches that minimize process waste and optimize costs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and developing process-centric material handling systems
- Fostering design excellence through business requirement-driven approaches
- Closing gaps from current to desired states through data-driven analysis
- Creating material flow diagrams and conceptual designs
- Driving design reviews and vendor selection processes
About the Team:
The Amazon Transportation Service (ATS) team plays a critical role in our success, using air, sea, and road transport, as well as sortation centers equipped with the latest technology. As part of this team, you'll be part of a diverse group that captures data to drive decisions and makes Amazon more innovative and efficient. Our top priority is safety, and we use the expertise of our people to get packages to their destination – quickly, conveniently, and sustainably.
Requirements:
We're looking for candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, or a related field, along with proven experience in automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and systems. Strong experience with process design based on Lean Principles, capital project management, and technical software like MS Excel and CAD is also essential. Fluency in English is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
A Master's degree in Engineering, 2-5 years of Operations experience, or relevant qualifications are considered preferred. French, German, Polish, Portuguese, Arabic, Turkish, Afrikaans, and Zulu language proficiency is also desirable.
