Journeyman 310T Diesel Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Journeyman 310T Diesel Mechanic to join an established fleet in Rexdale, Ontario. This role is perfect for a certified technician with a strong background in diesel mechanics. Techs with certifications such as a 310T Journeyman, Red Seal, or 310T Apprentice are highly encouraged to apply. Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose malfunctions and perform comprehensive vehicle repairs, including adjustments and tests on various systems like steering, electrical, cooling, braking, and more.
  • Conduct test drives to verify the resolution of repair issues.
  • Ensure all major repairs receive appropriate inspections and approvals before vehicles are released from the maintenance facility.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient workspace in compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Identify and report any additional maintenance or repairs discovered during assigned tasks.
  • Record time spent, parts used, and details of repairs and maintenance conducted on the appropriate forms.
  • Communicate with the Lead Technician about any unsafe maintenance conditions or practices and potential vehicle abuse.
  • Handle road calls and on-the-road repairs as needed.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in fleet maintenance, including repair and engine rebuilds on diesel trucks or buses, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must possess a Red Seal, 310T Journeyman License, or registration as a 310T apprentice.
  • Proficiency in computerized diagnostics and general shop computer usage.
  • Experience with purchasing and budget management in a fleet maintenance context.
  • Excellent computer skills, particularly with Word and Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Good organizational skills are advantageous.
#HJ1 Compensation:
  • $40 to $41/hr based on experience.
