Logistics Operations Manager
Our client, a dynamic and growing third-party logistics (3PL) provider, is seeking a highly organized and results-driven Logistics Operations Manager to lead their facility in Portland, Oregon . This role requires strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of warehousing, inventory management, and transportation coordination. You will be responsible for optimizing operational efficiency, managing staff, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities: Oversee daily operations of the warehouse, including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping. Manage and motivate a team of warehouse associates, supervisors, and leads to achieve performance targets. Implement and improve warehouse processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and productivity. Manage inventory control systems to ensure accuracy and minimize discrepancies. Coordinate with transportation carriers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods. Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor operational performance and identify areas for improvement. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies. Manage operational budgets and control costs within the warehouse. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement. Serve as a key point of contact for client operational inquiries and issue resolution. Maintain strong relationships with internal departments and external partners. Qualifications: Proven experience as a Logistics Manager, Warehouse Manager, or similar role in a 3PL environment. Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and transportation management systems (TMS). Demonstrated experience in leading and developing teams. Excellent knowledge of logistics operations, supply chain principles, and best practices. Proficiency in data analysis and performance reporting. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred. Experience with lean methodologies or continuous improvement initiatives is a plus. Ability to work flexible hours as needed to support operational demands.
