Marketing & Social Media Content Creator

Uma is reinventing how people access everyday essentials through smart, AI-powered fridges. Our UmaBoxes offer 24/7 access to a curated selection of products, including meals, drinks, snacks, and wellness items, without the need for staff, kiosks, or checkout lines. Deployed across condos, gyms, schools, and coworking spaces, Uma brings modern retail directly into the spaces people already live, work, and train.
Founded by University of Toronto alumni and backed by institutional partners, Uma is scaling quickly across the GTA.

Role

We’re looking for a Marketing & Social Media Content Creator who can take ownership of Uma’s online voice and bring our story to life. This is a hybrid role combining creative production with strategic marketing. You’ll be responsible for creating high-impact content that builds awareness, engages local communities, and supports our growth across the GTA.
You’ll lead our content strategy across platforms and create short-form videos, visuals, and brand moments that grab attention and convert curiosity into engagement. This role is equal parts creator, strategist, and brand builder.

Responsibilities

Plan, shoot, and edit short-form videos (TikTok, Instagram Reels) highlighting UmaBoxes, new product drops, installs, and customer moments.
Develop and maintain Uma’s brand presence across Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
Create eye-catching content for physical and digital spaces, including in-box signage, machine wraps, posters, and flyers.
Collaborate with local influencers and creators to extend our reach.
Design and run promotions, giveaways, and local activation campaigns.
Track performance metrics and optimize content based on results.
Support product storytelling and announcements (e.g., new meals, seasonal themes).

Requirements

Deep familiarity with Toronto’s local culture, trends, and social landscape.
Proven experience creating engaging short-form video content (TikTok, Instagram Reels, etc.).
Strong grasp of digital marketing fundamentals, including audience targeting and platform best practices.
Solid writing and editing skills, able to craft sharp captions, clear messaging, and consistent brand voice.
Comfortable using editing tools like CapCut, Premiere Pro, Canva, or similar software.

What We Offer

A chance to help shape a fast-growing, Toronto-based startup from the ground up.
Flexible work schedule and creative autonomy.
A collaborative, driven, and supportive team environment.
Opportunities to grow your role as Uma expands.
Access to product samples and on-site content opportunities across gyms, condos, schools, and more.
