Mechanical Estimator - HVAC/Sheet Metal

Sectors we work with include industrial, care homes, retail, multi-tenant residential, and commercial. </p><p><strong>Position Summary</strong></p><p>We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced <strong>Sheet Metal Estimator</strong> to join our growing team. The primary responsibility of this role is to evaluate project specifications, blueprints, and other documentation to accurately estimate the material, labor, and time required for sheet metal fabrication and installation, helping us secure contracts and maintain profitability.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to gain a thorough understanding of the project scope.</li><li>Perform accurate material and labor takeoffs using estimating software QuoteSoft.</li><li>Solicit and manage bids from vendors and subcontractors to ensure the best pricing for materials and services.</li><li>Prepare detailed cost estimates, proposals, and bid packages for presentation to management, clients, and other stakeholders.</li><li>Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and field staff to ensure estimates are realistic and comprehensive.</li><li>Develop and maintain a database of unit costs, labor rates, and material pricing for continuous improvement.</li><li>Stay current with industry trends, new technologies, building codes, and safety standards.</li><li>Assist in processing change orders and updating estimates as project scopes evolve.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Qualifications & Skills</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Experience:</strong> Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sheet metal or mechanical trades, with a strong background in cost estimation.</li><li><strong>Technical Knowledge:</strong> Strong knowledge of mechanical drawings, HVAC systems, and sheet metal fabrication processes is essential.</li><li><strong>Software Proficiency:</strong> Proficient in Microsoft Office and experienced with construction estimating and project management software (e.g., Bluebeam, Quotesoft, Procore).</li><li><strong>Analytical Skills:</strong> Excellent mathematical and analytical thinking abilities, with a high degree of attention to detail.</li><li><strong>Communication:</strong> Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and clients.</li><li><strong>Organization:</strong> Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Why Join Us?</strong></p><p>We offer a competitive compensation package and benefits.
