This full-time Registered Nurse opportunity is with a highly regarded private school in Palo Alto that serves elementary-age students with autism who benefit from significant individualized support. With an exceptionally small student population, integrated therapy services, and a highly collaborative team, this role offers the chance to provide meaningful, student-centered care in an environment designed around each child's unique needs.

The school provides an adaptive learning environment where speech therapy, occupational therapy, behavioral supports, and educational programming are woven throughout the school day. Students may be verbal, minimally verbal, or developing emerging communication skills, creating a rewarding opportunity for a nurse who values relationship-building and individualized care.

What You'll Do

• Serve as the primary healthcare resource for students throughout the school day
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and school policies
• Assess and respond to student illnesses, injuries, and health concerns
• Manage allergies, emergency medications, and individualized health plans
• Provide first aid and ongoing health monitoring as needed
• Support students and staff during community outings and field trips
• Maintain accurate health records and documentation
• Communicate with families, healthcare providers, and school staff regarding student health needs
• Collaborate with educators, speech therapists, occupational therapists, behavioral specialists, and administrators
• Help maintain a safe, healthy, and supportive learning environment

What We're Looking For

• Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current CPR certification
• Pediatric, school nursing, developmental disabilities, behavioral health, or related experience preferred
• Strong assessment and clinical decision-making skills
• Comfortable supporting students with a wide range of communication abilities
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
• Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
