The incumbent will be required to demonstrate authoritative knowledge and clinical expertise as well as exhibit strong interpersonal skills in this role. This position requires the ability to provide consultation, education, and training within the primary health care focus of mental health and addictions services, incorporating best practice and evidence-based research.Human Resources Exemption: NoExperience Minimum of 5 years of experience working with youth, adults, older adults and families presenting with mental health diagnoses. Extensive training in assessment and treatment techniques appropriate to those affected by mental health diagnoses. Extensive experience working with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques with youth, adults and older adults. Extensive experience in family and group intervention modalities. Experience in working in partnership within the community. Experience in working independently, and as a member of a team, with minimal supervisionEducation Master of Social Work (MSW)Licenses Valid Class 5 driver's licenseCompetencies Advanced - Research skills Basic - Computer skills Intermediate - Time management skills Intermediate - Organizational skillsKnowledge and Abilities Significant experience in the assessment and treatment of mental health diagnosis and intervention with youth, adults, older adults and their families. Extensive knowledge of best practice or empirically based models of assessment, management and treatment of mental health diagnoses. Ability to carry out program evaluation. Demonstrated knowledge and skill in social work intervention methodologies including family systems theory, therapy, group work and case management. Skills in program planning, consultation and evaluation. Experience in community program consultation and resource development for those involved with individuals with mental health diagnoses within the community. Demonstrated skill in the area of compiling, analyzing and disseminating research. Ability to design, initiate and conduct in-service training for other professionals. Experience in providing public education regarding youth and adults with mental health concerns. Leadership abilities and professional maturity to develop and maintain relationships within a multidisciplinary team, interagency programs and within the community of those providing human services. Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively as a member of a multidisciplinary team and ability to independently manage complex and multiple demands while co-coordinating workload. Demonstrated skill in mentoring, training and clinically supervising social workers and related disciplines. Comprehensive knowledge of legislation that impacts the work of clinicians working with clients in the mental health field and awareness of its potential to facilitate and constrain clinical practice. Highly developed oral and written communication skills. Effective time management and organizational skills.
