GLAD YOU ASKED... The Opportunity: Be the Technical Compass for Our Customers Pelmorex Weather Source (PWS) is at a pivotal moment. We are transforming from a weather data provider into an indispensable analytics partner, embedding our weather intelligence directly into the workflows of the world's leading businesses.We are looking for a technically-fluent, customer-obsessed Solutions Engineer to be a foundational member of our new Customer Success team. This isn't a traditional support role. You will be the trusted technical advisor and the "voice of the customer," ensuring our most strategic clients can successfully integrate our data and build game-changing solutions. Your work will be the critical bridge between our powerful products and real-world business value. Your Mission: Drive Adoption, Solve a-ha-moment-problems, and Be the ExpertAs our Solutions Engineer, your mission is to ensure every customer has a seamless technical experience, from their first day of onboarding to their most complex integration challenge. You will partner with our sales, product, and engineering teams to remove technical barriers and empower our customers to achieve their goals. Please note, while this is a remote role, it requires you to be eligible to work and be located in Canada and work Eastern Standard hours (EST) WHAT IS THE DAY TO DAY LOOK LIKE<ul><li>Serve as the Primary Technical Advisor: You will be the named technical account manager for our strategic customers, building deep relationships and acting as their trusted expert on all things Pelmorex Weather Source</li><li>Lead Technical Onboarding: You will own the critical first 90 days of the customer journey, guiding new clients through the technical setup and integration of our API, cloud deliveries, and Analytics as a Service platform</li><li>Solve High-Stakes Problems: You will be the final escalation point for our most complex technical support issues, diving deep into customer environments to diagnose and resolve integration challenges</li><li>Partner in Pre-Sales: You will work alongside our Account Executives in the pre-sales process, acting as the technical expert in demos and discovery calls to build trust and credibility with technical buyers</li><li>Be the Voice of the Customer: You will translate your frontline experience and customer feedback into clear, actionable insights for our product and engineering teams, directly influencing our product roadmap</li><li>Contribute to Our Developer Community: You will create and improve our technical documentation, write tutorials, and build code samples that empower our developer community and reduce friction for all users</li><li>Document Our Best Practices: You will be responsible for producing internal documentation - support playbooks, bespoke data pipelines, sales assets, etc - that will aid all parts of our business in supporting and selling our products </li></ul> WE ARE HOPING YOU HAVE...<ul><li>Core Competencies:</li><li>A Natural, Inquisitive Problem Solver: You have a relentless curiosity and a passion for digging into complex technical problems and thinking outside the box to find the root cause and the best possible solution</li><li>An Empathetic Communicator & Educator: You have a unique ability to explain complex technical concepts to engineers, analysts, and business leaders in a way that is clear, patient, and empowering</li><li>A Proactive, Self-Directed Owner: You are a self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity and thrives on taking ownership of a problem from start to finish</li><li>Exceptional Stakeholder Management: You are skilled at building trust and navigating conversations with a wide range of people, from a junior developer to a C-level executive </li></ul>Technical Skills & Experience:Required:<ul><li>Strong hands-on experience with SQL and relational databases</li><li>Proven experience working within a major data warehouse, especially Snowflake</li><li>Proficiency in a scripting language, preferably Python, for data manipulation and automation</li><li>A deep understanding of data integration patterns, ETL/ELT processes, and API fundamentals </li></ul>Bonus Points:<ul><li>Prior experience in roles such as Support Engineer, Sales Engineer, or Technical Account Manager</li><li>Ability to manage and query petabyte-scale datasets</li><li>Comfortable working in a Linux or MacOS command line environment</li><li>Experience with cloud platforms like Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Amazon Web Services (AWS).Familiarity with GIS tools, geospatial data formats (GeoJSON, shapefiles, WKT), or cloud mapping services</li><li>An interest in learning more about weather, forecasting, and climatology </li></ul>DON’T MEET ALL THE REQUIREMENTS?
