Systems Administrator - Senior
Position Overview
The Systems Administrator will provide comprehensive systems administration and operational support within a production environment. This role requires hands-on experience managing Windows servers and web-based Windows applications, as well as performing day-to-day operational tasks to ensure seamless and secure system performance.
The successful candidate will handle user access management, backup and recovery processes, system upgrades, patching activities, and ongoing monitoring of system workloads. They will also support the client’s network environment and coordinate system interactions to maintain optimal performance and availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide systems administration and operations support, including:
- Setting up user access and user profiles
- Performing backup and recovery
- Executing day-to-day computer systems operations
- Perform software upgrades and apply patches in accordance with change management procedures.
- Act as a customer interface to ensure requested changes are clearly understood and implemented effectively.
- Monitor computer workload trends and adjust system configurations for optimized performance.
- Install, configure, maintain, and support client networks and interconnected systems.
- Ensure optimum utilization of computing resources through ongoing capacity and performance analysis.
General Skills & Qualifications
- Experience supporting Windows servers and web-based Windows applications in a Production environment.
- Experience with:

- Information retrieval packages
- Communications protocols
- Middleware and gateways
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and meet strict deadlines.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with distributed and networked systems.
- Awareness of emerging IT trends.
- Experience with one or more programming languages.
- Knowledge of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) standards and regulations.

Contract length: 12 months
Pay: From $35.00 per hour
