USD Cash Clearing Project Manager
About the position
The Vice President in Shares Services & Banking Operations at Morgan Stanley will support the implementation of USD self-clearing capabilities, including the development of USD Wire Room functions and system enhancements. This role involves managing complex processes, leading project management efforts, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure effective operational services across multiple business units. The position is designed for an Advanced Specialist who will play a crucial role in enhancing operational efficiency and client relationships within the firm.
Responsibilities
- Manage complex processes and support significant process management/project efforts.
- Lead in process improvement, project management, or technology development and testing across multiple teams and divisions.
- Analyze and expose ambiguous, complex issues, identify risks, root causes, and propose future actions, tracking through to resolution.
- Build and manage relationships with business unit partners, other Morgan Stanley infrastructure departments, and external contact points in Client or Market organizations.
- Develop USD clearing capabilities, working with critical vendors on product enhancement.
- Collaborate with Business, Operations, and Technology stakeholders to define requirements, build out, testing, implementation, and post-live support.
- Engage and manage third-party technology vendors and market infrastructure/payment systems.
Requirements
- Front-to-back knowledge of processes, projects, systems, markets, and instruments that influence the team.
- Comprehensive understanding of job-related operational/compliance policies and procedures.
- Ability to think commercially and understand the impact of initiatives and risks on the operational budget.
- Ability to address non-standard issues within area of expertise.
- Strong knowledge of USD payment processing including FedWire/CHIPS services, ISO message formatting, and settlement instructions.
- Experience working in Agile projects and with third parties including payment systems and tech vendors.
- At least 6 years of relevant experience.
